The reference site on Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga
Berserk is a Japanese dark fantasy manga created by Kentaro Miura, serialized in Young Animal magazine since 1989. The story follows Guts, a lone warrior wielding a colossal sword, on his quest for revenge against Griffith — his former commander who became the demonic entity Femto after sacrificing his own troop during the event known as the Eclipse.
Recognized as one of the most influential works in manga history, Berserk stands out for its darkness, narrative depth, and the exceptional artistic precision of Miura's panels. With 40 volumes, anime adaptations in 1997, 2012 and 2016, and a considerable influence on popular culture — from Dark Souls to fantasy films — the work remains an essential landmark of the genre.
Published on July 1st, 2026, volume 43 opens a new arc: the exile in the East. Guts and his party enter the territorial waters of the Kushan Empire and are taken prisoner. The volume is produced by Studio Gaga under the supervision of Kouji Mori.

Miura's legacy →Since June 2022, the manga has continued thanks to Kentaro Miura's former assistants gathered within Studio Gaga, guided by Kouji Mori — to whom Miura had confided the ending of his story. Volumes 41, 42 and 43 were released under this new organization.
