The Berserker Armor
The Berserker Armor is one of the most dangerous creations in the world of Berserk — a black armor of absolute power, forged in ancient times by a ghost-elf and kept by the witch Flora for centuries. It grants its bearer superhuman power by completely removing the natural limits of the human body.
These limits exist for a reason: they protect the body from itself. The Berserker Armor abolishes them all. It holds broken bones in place with internal metal spikes, ignores pain, prevents loss of consciousness. The result is a warrior who can keep fighting beyond any physical limit — but every battle destroys its bearer a little more from within, irreparably.

The Beast of Darkness
The Berserker Armor is not just a physical amplifier — it interfaces with its bearer's psyche. It amplifies the deepest and darkest instincts, releasing what Miura calls the Beast of Darkness: the animal, enraged part that has lived in Guts since childhood.
When Guts enters Berserker mode, his armor transforms: the helm takes the shape of a wolf's head with sharp fangs, symbol of the Beast that possesses him. In this state, Guts no longer distinguishes friend from foe — he strikes everything that moves. Isidro, Serpico and Farnese were all nearly killed by him in Berserker mode.
It is for this reason that Schierke has become indispensable. The young witch enters a trance and dives into Guts's soul during battle — she finds him at the heart of the mental storm, anchors him to his own identity, and lets him return to himself before he destroys everything. Without her, the armor consumes its bearer.
Uses in the manga
First use against the tree demon. Guts briefly loses awareness of himself — Schierke intervenes for the first time.
Guts fights Dakkar the Kraken and apostles at sea. The armor allows underwater combat impossible for an ordinary human.
Fight against the dragon apostle Grunbeld, one of the generals of the new Band of the Hawk. The only armor able to withstand the dragon's fiery breath.
Used during the final confrontation in Midland against Griffith's forces. Guts pushes the armor to its absolute limits.
